Open the Book Design

Well, I told you all I had a big exciting announcement for early January, and well, it’s finally ready, so here it is.

Towards the end of 2015,  I was beginning to feel a little lost, there was nothing really there for me, my new job wasn’t the most interesting thing in the world, and as everyone knows, I am taking a planned hiatus from my books, so I began to think about things I love doing, and I’ve always wanted to start my own business, so I did.

Open the Book Design is a cover design company for indie authors, Open the book is affordable, personal and effective. There is all kind of options for indie authors, and I, as an indie author myself of course know the importance of a great cover.

Officially into my break

So, I am officially on my break, it has been over a month, and well it has been very refreshing.

Now, I still plan to be on a break until October 2017, but as I said in the original post, I will continue to keep my social medias active, this will include blogging, facebooking and tweeting like before!

So, here I am blogging like before.

In in the upcoming year (2016), I’m excited to announce there will be a lot of R.J re-releases, a lot of my books will be re-released and there may even be a few additional scenes!

I will also be release some books with new covers, some of the older books have been given a makeover and a new cover will be coming their way.

A few books may also disappear along the way, but don’t worry, you will be warned before with a GRAB IT BEFORE IT GOES sale!

I am am quite excited about the prospecting year, I’m looking forward to revisiting old works and making them better.

I may also share a few collaboration projects that are happening throughout the year also.

Covers!

So whenever I’m in a dilemma and I can’t choose between two covers I always place it on my RJ Facebook and ask for the general preference. I mean I always do, I’d like a nice cover that people have seen and thought I like that!

I always try to put a general cover – maybe one that looks like other YA novels or something along the lines of what other people have done and then I put a second which is usually different and experimental and sometimes that wins, its an interesting day if that one wins but usually it’s the one that looks like other books and it doesn’t have intrigue me.
perfer.pngThis was the most recent of the decisions and last night the Globe won, the Globe which looks an awful lot like David Levithan’s covers but it won so I had to use it. But I just found this as a whole intriguing.
